Dr. Sanford Brotman
Retired from private dental practice in Alexandria after 42 years. Dr. Brotman writes the program notes for the Amadeus concerts, as well as performing administrative work for our office. His history of community work goes from the 1960s to the present day, including the Alexandria Dental Clinic, a resettlement committee for Russian Jewish refugees, Northern Virginia Dental Society Patient Relations Committee, and assistance with Afghan refugees after the Russian invasion. Currently he volunteers at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic, teaches basic literacy to adults, and is, in his own words, “maybe the oldest undergraduate (non-degree) at George Mason University.”
Maury Brown
Mr. Brown served the Agency for International Development as Director of Data Processing and Director of Development Information. He founded and chaired the International Network for Development Information Exchange which comprised more than 90 government and international agencies Since retirement in 1998 he has been a management consultant to the World Bank and several private companies working in international development. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in international relations from Syracuse University and New York University. Mr. Brown is a graduate of the Erie (PA) Conservatory of Music where he studied musical theory and composition. He was selected as first chair clarinet and saxophone to the Northwest Pennsylvania District Band two years in succession. He developed his musical talents into a lifelong avocation, attending musical performances in many parts of the world. Mr. Brown joined the Amadeus Board in 2005 and also serves on the Board of OAR, a non-profit organization providing rehabilitation services to inmates at the Fairfax Adult Detention Center. Mr. Brown actively mentors inmates at that facility.
Timothy Hackman
A recently retired IBM executive. His 34 year career spanned law and public affairs activities. He has been an active non-profit volunteer and leader, including: Senior Warden of his church; a founder of the International School of Stuttgart (Germany); the incorporator and first Secretary of the Board of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity (Danbury, CT). In addition to the Amadeus Concerts, he has devoted numerous hours to volunteer efforts on hurricane relief, local parks, home building, homeless shelters, outreach, etc. Tim enjoys classical music, and has sung in choirs almost all his life. He was also an instrumentalist during his formative years. Tim lives in Great Falls, and has an electrical engineering degree from Bucknell University and a law degree from Yale University.
John Hardisty
Retired Executive at TRW (now Northrop Grumman). While at TRW, Mr. Hardisty was involved in systems engineering involving spacecraft, the FAA and Fingerprint identification. For the last ten years he has volunteered as Chief/Assistant Chief for the Fairfax County Election Board. He played the flute and later studied voice (he is a tenor). He has a BS from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from Harvard University.
Edward Kelly
Mr. Kelly is currently a consultant with the Hay Group, a global human resources management consulting firm. Before joining the Hay Group, he had over 30 years of professional experience at the federal, state, and local levels, with international organizations, a non-profit trade association, and in the private sector. He has also held adjunct teaching appointments at universities in New England. Mr. Kelly has been in elected leadership positions at the local and regional levels of one of his professional societies and at the neighborhood commission level of a local government. He has won awards from the federal government for his work in historic preservation and urban design and from one of his professional societies for the design of a new federal program. Mr. Kelly has an undergraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate degree in Urban Planning from Harvard University. Mr. Kelly has had a life-long interest in classical music: in addition to his membership on the Board of Amadeus Concerts, he and his wife have been active supporters, volunteers, and donors for many years.
Ingrid Meyer
Ingrid was born and grew up in Vienna, Austria. From an early age, she was immersed in music and studied the violin for 12 years. Ingrid holds a degree in chemical engineering. She came to the United States in 1969 and worked for 17 years at the Environmental Protection Agency. After retirement, she started volunteer work with various musical organizations. She now is on the Board of Directors of Opera Lafayette, as well as on the Board for the Guild of Washington Concert Opera.

Jennifer Murphy
Mrs. Murphy is Assistant Vice President for Research & Economic Development/Director of Technology Transfer at George Mason University. She is also the Executive Director of George Mason Intellectual Properties, Inc.(GMIP), a non-profit corporation established to manage the university’s intellectual property. Ms. Murphy has been an enthusiastic supporter of and donor to the Amadeus Concerts for many years. She has served on the Board of Directors for three years. She is an active volunteer and lay eucharistic minister at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Great Falls where she was Senior Warden from 1991 to 1993. Currently she chairs the Stewardship Committee at St. Francis.
Paul Mutino
Paul Mutino has served as legal counsel for numerous commercial IT companies in the Washington, D.C. area. He also has served as legal counsel for not-for-profit organizations such as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and for the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. House of Representatives. Paul currently is in-house legal counsel for the Mindbank Consulting Group, LLC in Reston, Virginia. Paul is a long time supporter of Amadeus Concerts and resident of Great Falls, Virginia, the community to which Amadeus Concerts traces its origins.
