In a divided world, District5 invites audiences to rediscover what brings us together. More than a concert, this program offers a chance to pause, breathe, and reconnect through music, exploring unity and resilience through a series of beautiful and uplifting works. Now in its twelfth season, District5 is one of the most innovative chamber ensembles in the greater Washington, DC area, known for performances that combine passion, humor, virtuosity, and music you won’t hear anywhere else.

The ensemble has appeared at venues including The REACH at the Kennedy Center, Dumbarton Oaks, Wolf Trap, the Library of Congress, and the U.S. Department of State. Their projects include The Queentet Project, the album of Chopin Preludes, Forgotten Dances, the Pandemic Suite, and numerous commissions and transcriptions that spotlight overlooked music and composers. District5 also has a strong commitment to education, with programs created for leading youth ensembles and festivals, and service as Ensemble-in-Residence and summer faculty for major youth music academies.

Join Our Community Talks​

45 min before the concert time

Come to a pre-concert behind-the-scenes talk led by our Executive and Artistic Director, which takes place 45 min prior to the start of the concert at the venue. Typically including artists performing on that afternoon's program, these talks offer insight into the music and musicians you'll be hearing from later on. Historical context, demonstrations on instruments, and interviews on the musician's personal journey to the stage are frequent topics for presentation.

Stay for a Post-Concert Party

Our theme of up close musical experiences continues after every concert! Each of our concerts concludes with a reception with the artists, with food donated by our volunteers and wines selected and poured by our reception sponsor, the McLean Wine Outlet. This is a wonderful opportunity for any attendee at our concerts to meet and mingle with the artists themselves post-concert over a glass of wine and light fare.
