Gather with friends and supporters to kick off our 45th season with this opening house concert in Great Falls by pianist Sasha Beresovsky. Sasha’s program will be framed around arrangements and transcriptions by well-known composers; we’ve also been able to secure one of our other season artists, soprano Celine Mogielnicki, to come and sing a few selections as well! Remaking older music into newer music is a thread that connects virtually every genre of Western music, whether we’re talking about Renaissance masses, Mozart, Hip-hop, and anything in between. Sasha has put together this program based on our “request a piece” raffle winner at last year’s auction: our winner asked for something by George Gershwin! Sasha ran with that idea, choosing some of Gershwin’s own transcriptions of his popular songs, and then added additional works by Ferruccio Busoni (his Carmen Fantasy, for all your opera lovers), and Johannes Brahms’ transcription for the left hand of Bach’s famous Chaconne in D minor. This event has a limited capacity of 40 people, so please purchase your tickets early!
