Conducted by A. Scott Wood, the Amadeus Orchestra comprises professional musicians from the Washington DC area, including members of the National Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the nation’s finest military bands. Today’s concert will feature The Amadeus Strings in our Season Finale event, an exciting conclusion to our 45th season. This concert will also feature the winner of our first Emerging Artist Composer Competition, generously sponsored by John and Patty Dyer: the selected composer will have their piece performed as the opening work on this concert. If you would like more information on how to apply to this new opportunity, which includes mentorship – in the form of one-on-one sessions with our conductor and mentor composers, and a reading prior to the May 2nd rehearsal cycle – please visit this page.
