A. Scott Wood

A. Scott Wood is Music Director and Conductor of the Amadeus Orchestra and Interim Music Director of the Arlington Philharmonic. He also leads the Washington Conservatory Orchestra, the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, and the National Cathedral School Orchestra, and has conducted ensembles including the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, American University Orchestra, Washington Savoyards, Eldbrooke Opera, and Signature Theatre. An active educator and arranger, Mr. Wood has worked with numerous youth orchestras and received the Serage Music Education Award. His work has been praised by The Washington Post for its “warm and admirably clear” tone and “fine sense of shade and color,” and his compositions and arrangements have been nationally recognized. Born in Paris and trained in both Europe and the United States, he lives in Alexandria with his wife and two daughters.
