Jeff Stern

Jeff Stern is an award‑winning contemporary percussionist praised for precision and timbral detail, performing widely across the United States, Europe, and Asia and championing new music by leading composers. He is executive director, co‑artistic director, and founding percussionist of the 2‑piano/2‑percussion ensemble icarus Quartet, which has been featured at major festivals and on prominent series. Stern appears frequently with groups such as The Percussion Collective and other new‑music ensembles, giving premieres of works by Alejandro Viñao, Michael Laurello, and others. He serves on the percussion faculty at the Peabody Institute and is an artist endorser for Vic Firth, Zildjian, Evans, and Pearl/Adams.
