About the Artist

John Pablo Rojas

Cello
John Pablo Rojas is a cellist, composer, and improviser from Detroit, Michigan. He currently is attending Wayne State University studying cello performance with Úna O’Riordan and composition with Dr. Jon Anderson. He recently won the Wayne State University Concerto Competition and performed Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Orchestra Hall. He has performed at contemporary music festivals such as Strange Beautiful Music with the Regenerate! Orchestra and at Refugia Festival with the Blackbox Ensemble. He is a prominent freelancer and has performed all over Michigan, including performances in Chicago and Pittsburgh. In his free time he enjoys going to art shows, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
